Abstract


This is case report of skeletal class w malocclusion with macroglossia is corrected by thc- combination of o. tiiodontic treatment and surgery in 21 years Female patient-after the maxillary arch is expanded orthodontically, the size of the mandible and
tongue is reduced surgically, to make it comparable in size to fit the occlusion of the maxillary teeth.
The final postsurgical rearrangement of teeth is done orthodontically, to seat as many
inclined planes as possible. The results are follows :
1. We could treat the skeletal class l malocclusion.
2. Partial glossectomy was done to prevent the relapse of the orthodontically & surgically treated condition.
3. Sensory, speech, swallowing and so other functions after the operation have been with in normal limit without any serious complications or sequellae.
